Agreement between SIG CHI Italy and SIE

The Italian Ergonomics Community (Società Italiana di Ergonomia, SIE) and the Italian chapter of ACM SIG CHI, recognizing the complementarity and the affinity of their interests, signed an agreement in December the 4th, in order to strengthen their common interests in Italy.
The objective of the Italian Ergonomics Community (SIE, www.societadiergonomia.it) is to promote advancements in ergonomics and the study of human factors (due to its anthropocentric focus), the dissemination and the systematization of both the experience and the knowledge about ergonomics, with a close relationship with social, environmental and productive activities where human being live, together with schools and universities.
The agreement aims to define and to support joint initiatives. The first one took place in the last weeks:
  • WORLD USABILITY DAY 2016: the reciprocal participation to the events organized by the two partners (WUD Torino 2014 and 2015, CHI Italy Rome 2015) highlighted the interest in organizing a joint event under the umbrella of the WUD, which will be extended in 2016 both from a geographic and thematic point of view.
  • PROGETTO ITALIA LOGIN: as part of the government strategy for innovation, some members of the two associations have been involved in the management of a community of experts whose aim is to collaborate and share a set of best practices in projects. The aim is to improve the consultation content and efficiency of the online services provided by different government departments and keep updated the usability guidelines.

On this basis, an initial working group was set up with Cristina Gena SIG CHI Italy, Daniela Fogli SIG CHI Italy/SIE, Rossana Actis-Grosso SIG CHI Italy/SIE,  Silvia Gilotta SIE.
